Welcome to South Africa! On arrival into Cape Town International Airport you will clear immigrations formalities and collect your luggage. Outside the arrival hall you will be met by your tour manager and shortly afterwards will be transferred to your hotel, the Table Bay Hotel Cape Town, your home for a 4-night stay. The remainder of your day and evening are at leisure.

Enjoy breakfast before departing on a full day Cape Peninsula Tour. Travel past Camp Bay, Clifton and Llandudno to the scenic harbor of Hout Bay, travel over Chapman’s Peak (if open) to the Cape Point Nature Reserve. The Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point form part of the Cape Peninsula National Park Enjoy a walk to the Cape Point lighthouse. Visit Boulders Beach Penguin Colony, where you can see African Penguins in their habitat. Lunch is included. Later, return to Cape Town for overnight. (B/L)

After breakfast, depart on a full day Winelands Tour. Absorb the beauty of South Africa’s wine industry. Enjoy a wine tasting in Stellenbosch with its canal-lined avenues, giant oak trees and beautifully preserved historic buildings. Travel over the Helshoogte Pass to the town of Franschhoek. The town dates to the 17th century when the French Huguenots arrived. Billed as the Gourmet Capital of South Africa, this town bursts with charm, situated in the most picturesque valley and to this day still maintains its French Huguenot style. Enjoy a wine tasting before lunch at one of the many award-winning restaurants. Onward to one of the Capes first farming districts, Paarl. Paarl made headlines when President Mandela was released from the Groot Drakenstein prison (ex Victor Verster), enjoy a cellar tour. Return to Cape Town for overnight. (B/L)

After breakfast, depart from Cape Town and begin your journey towards Oudtshoorn. The drive includes Du Toit’s Kloof Pass, a beautiful drive that winds its way up the side of the mountain that gives one a beautiful view over the Paarl valley, including an excellent take of Paarl rock one would not usually see. Continue to Oudtshoorn, a town in the Klein Karoo area of South Africa’s Western Cape. It’s known for its ostrich farms and rests along the Route 62 wine route. Overnight in Oudtshoorn. (B)

Awake to the freshness of Karoo air. After a good breakfast, visit the world famous Cango Caves, one of the world’s great natural wonders set at the foot of the Swartberg Mountain range for a guided tour. From here travel to the Cango Wildlife Ranch, an endangered species breeding facility extraordinaire. Learn the facts and fiction about reptiles, other beautiful animals and the opportunity for a personal cheetah encounter (optional) A short drive to the other end of Oudtshoorn brings us to ostrich country and lunch at the Highgate Ostrich Show Farm to sample ostrich delicacies and to tour the estate. In the late afternoon travel over the Outeniqua Mountains which offer exquisite views as we approach the coast towards Knysna. Here for the first time one can now understand why this area is known as the Garden Route. As you drive over the summit of the pass, lush green vegetation awaits you. After breakfast, enjoy some time to enjoy the village of Knysna and the Knysna Waterfront. Later this morning, depart on a guided boat trip on the Keurbooms River to experience the majesty of the Keurbooms River Nature Reserve, as the ferries glide over shimmering waters, through soaring gorges, to our picnic lunch stop along the banks of the Keurbooms River. In the late afternoon continue to Mossel Bay to visit the Post Office Tree and Diaz Museum where early pioneers left mail for the homebound ships to Europe. Spend a relaxed afternoon at the swimming pool or take a leisurely stroll along the beach. Dinner and overnight in Mossel Bay. (B/D)

This morning, head to Botlierskop Private Game Reserve to enjoy breakfast before departing on a game drive. Experience close encounters with Rhinoceros, Lion, Buffalo, Giraffe, rare Black Impala and many more species in an exhilarating three hour guided game viewing drive in an open vehicle over the 3000 ha reserve. From the reserve travel via rolling hills to Swellendam, a town founded by the Dutch East India Company in 1745 to exercise control over independent frontiersmen who migrated over the Hottentots Holland Mountains at the beginning of the 18th century. Enjoy lunch in this historical town, then return to Cape Town via a scenic stop at one of the local farm stalls stocked with local delectable delights. Your eveining is free in Cape Town. (B/L)
