Tour Details

Cheung Chau Island is known for its exquisite temples, ancient rock carvings, and its annual Bun Festival. While visiting Hong Kong, this day trip is an excellent way to see even more of the area's historical and cultural wonders.

Start your tour of Cheung Chau Island at Pak Tai Temple. Built in the late 18th century this Taoist temple boasts traditional Chinese temple architecture and is decorated extensively with sculptures and traditional Chinese murals. Travel along the "backside" of the island and walk the wild beachside at Tung Wan Beach. This beach is famous for windsurfers. Check out the wind surfers, kayakers, and other water sport enthusiasts before seeing rock carvings that are over 3,000 years old. Next, take a short sampan ride and see a traditional fishing village as you cruise around a typhoon shelter before cruising to Cheung Po Tsai Cave, an 18th century pirate hideout. Finally, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local Chinese restaurant included in your tour. The afternoon is yours to tour Cheung Chau Island at your leisure. Cheung Chau Island packs a lot of history and culture into a tiny island town. See it all on this half-day tour of the island's temples, beaches, and other attractions.

Please Note: This tour ends at Central Pier.

This tour operates Monday through Friday from September to May.
