Trip Overview

The capital of Northern Ireland, Belfast is a special place to experience a different flavour of the Emerald Isle. This 4-day trip includes a black taxi tour to show you the highlights of the city. These include Falls and Shankill Roads, where you’ll learn about the history of the infamous Troubles, and see the Peaceline wall. The following day, visit one of the island’s most spectacular natural formations, the Giant’s Causeway. You’ll stop in at Carrickfergus Castle and the famous Carrick-a-rede Ropebridge. You might even steel your nerves to make the crossing on foot. Afterwards, visit the Bushmills Distillery for lunch and a tipple, before going on to the Giant’s Causeway, learning about the myths and legends that surround these ancient stones.

On this tour, the experienced and informative tour guides will take you on a unique historical and cultural experience through the streets of Belfast. You will also visit the Falls Road and Shankill Road where you will learn of the history of conflict between the two communities and witness the Peaceline wall which divides the two. The enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide will explain the many murals which are to be seen on the tours as well as many sites which have played important roles in the political history of Belfast. Departing from Belfast this morning, the first stop today is a photo stop at Carrickfergus Castle. From there, continue along the Causeway Coastal Route, enjoying stops at Carnlough and the Caves at Cushendun. Before a lunch stop at the Fullerton Arms in Ballintoy, stop briefly at the iconic Dark Hedges. Following lunch, continue on to the highlight of the day, the Giant's Causeway, Ireland's only World Heritage Site. Spend some time climbing over the ancient stones, snapping some photos, and enjoying the myths and legends that surround this world famous attraction. Then re-board the luxury coach, and make your way to along the coast, for one last short stop at the ancient ruins of Dunluce Castle. Conclude the day with a return to Belfast at approximately 6:00pm.
