On arrival in the colourful city of Barcelona, check into your hotel for a 2 night stay. You will have a free day to explore the city on your own or take an optional tour. Don’t miss the tree-lined Ramblas with its many vendors and cafes or the unusual creations of the architect Antoni Gaudi including the uniquely designed apartment buildings, Guell Park and the unfinished Sagrada Familia cathedral.
Next pick up your rental car and drive to the town of Huesca in north east Spain for a 3 night stay. Spend a day exploring Huesca and take in the sites including the imposing cathedral, the old Romanesque Pedro El Viejo Monastery, and the Church of St. Lawrence.
The following day, visit Castillo de Loarre (ticket included). This beautiful castle and national monument is an important historic site dating back to the 11th Century.
The following morning, drive to the city of Jaca near the French border in the Pyrenees Mountains. Jaca has a number of medieval buildings, towers and walls. Visit the Monastery of San Juan built in 920 AD beneath a giant rock and the Museum of Medieval Sacred Art with its Romanesque and Gothic frescoes.
Leave the next day and cross into France for a night in Lourdes where it is suggested you explore the city including the Sanctuary, the Cave of Revelations and the Basilica of Immaculate Conception.
Cross next into Andorra and stay overnight in its capital, Andorra La Vella. Here you have a ticket to relax at the Caldea Thermal Spa Centre. Also there is time to explore the city with its old and new sections.
The following morning, drive back to Barcelona and in the evening, have dinner at the Xup Xup Restaurant located on Barcelona Beach. Overnight in Barcelona.
Return your car the next day at the airport.
