This 8-day cruise sets out from the beautiful walled city of Dubrovnik, discovering the islands of the Adriatic on its way to Heritage listed Split.
Consider arriving early in Dubrovnik to explore all the city has to offer, including a delightful, labyrinthine old town containing a highly appetizing restaurant and bar scene. Then board your vessel bound for the Elaphite Islands, where you’ll overnight in a small fishing village. Stop in at the island of Mijet, home to fascinating salt lakes in its national park.
A description of Korcula, reads like a Mediterranean wishlist. A beautiful island where beaches surround olive groves, vineyards and ancient villages, medieval charm is alive and well here, so explore the local streets and be sure to let your taste buds explore as well. A different taste of the region awaits you on Hvar, one of the more sophisticated and lavish islands in the Adriatic, but even here you’ll find historic landmarks and one of Europe’s oldest community theatres. Overnight to explore all Hvar’s bar and restaurant scene has to offer.
Vis is a former strategic location that was closed to public access until recently. That history shelters its older style of Mediterranean charm. There are ancient ruins to explore, including those of the city of Issa, Croatia’s earliest city. Then sail on to Bol, home to the beautiful Zlatni Rat beach, before overnighting in Makarska. On the same island, explore Pucisca. Seemingly a fairly typical Mediterranean town, it’s remarkable for holding one of the few stone masonry workshops remaining in Europe. To add a touch more excitement to your journey, you’ll have the opportunity to go rafting on the Cetina River.
Your final destination is Split, one of the Adriatic coast’s highlights, and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the palace of Roman emperor Diocletian. You’ll also have the option of a guided tour to get the most out of the city before you depart.
