This 5-day Japanese vacation takes you to Okinawa to explore its azure waters and enjoy its refreshing alternative to mainland Japanese life. It features first-class accommodations, shared tours, and is a great add-on to stay on the mainland.
Your journey begins in Naha, the capital of Okinawa, where you'll connect to your beachside resort property on the west coast. Okinawa offers a slower pace of life than mainland Japan and is a refreshing contrast to the modernity that defines places like Tokyo. In many ways it’s a meeting place between east and west and was a key historical location during World War II. Today, it’s a beautiful sub-tropical escape. The capital Naha offers modern pleasures with a good monorail system and plenty of shopping and beachside activities, while the more rural areas are havens for slowing down the pace and enjoying the bounties of nature.
Based in the Manza Beach area, you’ll have most of your time to yourself. One day, you’ll join a small group for a snorkelling tour in the warm waters off the western coast. Dive beneath the waves and spot all manner of sea life attracted by the sub-tropical conditions. You’ll then have two days at leisure to follow your fancy. Relax on the beach, go shopping in some of the attractive malls, or delve into the history of the Ryukyu Kingdom at Suri-jo, a restored castle.
At the end of your stay, head back to the airport in Naha to connect to your next destination.
