First opened as a game reserve in 1926, Murchison Falls National Park has since become the country’s largest conservation area. As such, it’s an incredible place to see wildlife. While in Murchison Falls National Park, you’ll stay at Baker’s Lodge, a safari lodge sitting on the south bank of the Nile River, At Baker’s Lodge, you’ll enjoy the comforts of a thatched safari suite raised above the savannah floor and a viewing deck from which to watch animals passing below.
When you’re not relaxing at the lodge, you’ll head on excursions throughout the park. On safari drives you’ll have a chance to spot the 76 mammal and 451 bird species that populate the park, among them elephants, giraffes, buffalo, hippos, and Nile crocodiles. Chief among the park’s attractions are the eponymous falls, which fall 45 metres over the valley wall to create a stunning sight.
