This 7-day Peru vacation takes you to the capital Lima for two nights before you connect to Iquitos to explore the Amazon rainforest in the Pacaya Samira National Reserve. It features deluxe accommodations and a mix of private and shared tours.
Your trip to Peru begins in Lima, the Peruvian capital, and its political and culinary centre. Get a taste for both elements of the city on a day of tours. Start with a private city tour in and around the Plaza de Armas, the administrative centre of the city where you'll find the presidential palace as well as main cathedral and the religious landmark of the Convent of Santo Domingo. Cap off the tour at the Larco Musuem, home to a world-famous collection of pre-Columbian art. That evening, get to know Lima’s food and drink scene with a tour through some of the city’s trendy taverns and bars.
Connect from Lima to Iquitos to continue your trip to Peru in the nation’s north. Head to Nauta to board the Delfin III, which takes you one step beyond luxury with its intimate luxury cabins, relaxing open-air observation deck, and dining room serving the best in Amazonian and Peruvian cuisine. Aboard the Delfin III, you’ll explore the Amazon rainforest, the world’s largest rainforest and the home to billions of organisms spanning from the heights of the tree canopy to the depths of the river floor.
Head into the Pacaya Samira National Reserve, the world’s largest protected flood forest, for two full days of excursions within the Amazon. Hike into the jungle and search for red howler monkeys, listening for their distinctive call, or swim alongside grey and pink river dolphins in a calm inland tributary. See all manner of water birds at Atun Poza, including species of herons and egrets. Track the beautiful Morpho butterfly to glimpse its startling blue wings or sit back on deck and enjoy the site of macaws and monkeys in the riverside canopy. On the final morning of your visit, you’ll head to a local Indigenous village to meet with people who live and work deep within the forest. Then swing by the Manatee Rescue Center on the way back to Iquitos, where you’ll connect back to Lima for one final night.
At the end of your vacation in Peru, connect to the airport for onward travels.
