Be invigorated by exotic Morocco on this 8 day private touring experience off the tourist trail. Stay in boutique Riads (traditional houses) and First class hotels.
Weave through the High Atlas mountains to the rose festival city of El Kella M’Gouna, and the spectacular valley of Dadess. At Tinghir, roam the markets, sampling the many fruits available from this large oasis in the desert. To the north, the view of 300m high Toudra Gorges will astonish you. You’ll even have the chance to take an optional sunset camel ride.
The colours of the desert come alive at Merzouga, where the spectacular Saharan dunes – particularly Erg Chebbi, which rises 150 meters above the desert – are a photographer’s haven. Stop in at fascinating Berber villages on your way to Tamgroute library, home to 12th century Coranic scripts. Go on to see a different side of Morocco at Ouarzazate, centre of the country’s film industry. Tour the many Kasbahs here, along with Ait Ben Haddou. A film star in its own right, this fortified village has appeared in Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, The Living Daylights and Alexander.
Your journey ends with a full day tour of Marrakesh. This is Morocco at its most romantic. A visit to Jemaa El Fna Square offers a stunning array of food and performers, including musicians, snake charmers and fortune tellers. You’ll also visit the 12th century Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace and the Menara Gardens.
