Amazing Experience

Overview

Trip Overview

From timeless London to romantic Edinburgh, this 11-day Britain trip takes you via Oxford and the Cotswolds, Wales’ Snowdonia National Park, always trendy Liverpool, historic York, and the Lakes District, with your small group enjoying first-class accommodations along the way.

Your journey begins with a night in London, but we recommend arriving a few days early, particularly if you’ve never been in this incredible city before. Then head to Oxford for a quick tour of one of the world’s most famous university towns and an overview of its many colleges, before you head into the Cotswolds. Famous for their thatched roof houses, the Cotswolds embody the most romantic notions of Southern England’s countryside. You’ll even stop by Stratford-Upon-Avon, following in Shakespeare’s footsteps as you explore.

Stop at Worcester’s awesome cathedral on your way to Denbighshire, the gateway to the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. Northern Wales is at its natural finest here, spread over 823 square miles of lakes, ridges, jagged outcroppings, and castles. After a full day in Snowdonia, stop over in Liverpool for a day on the trail of the Beatles, then go on to discover a much older British story in York.

Shambles, snickelways, Vikings, and stately minsters… nobody can accurse York of not having character! Take a guided walk through its medieval laneways, keeping your camera ever-ready to capture one of England’s most charismatic cities. Go on to nearby Castle Howard, known to many for Brideshead Revisited, and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, which might make you feel like you’ve stepped into some romantic Victorian novel yourself!

Just when you thought England’s countryside couldn’t enchant you more, it’s time to explore the Lakes District. Spend a full day here, seeing Lake Windemere and taking in the landscape that has inspired poets for centuries. At last, cross the Scottish border to Edinburgh, paying your respects to Hadrian’s Wall and stopping in at Roslyn Chapel. Disembark in Edinburgh, but as with London, we highly recommend spending an extra few nights here to experience the city at its best.
