Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose, pass through Customs and collect your baggage, then proceed to the Arrivals Hall. Here you will find a local representative holding a sign with your name on it. After meeting, you will be escorted to the nearby car rental office to sign off on your vehicle. Once completed, you will have a brief chat with the local representative to answer any questions you may have before boarding a shuttle bus which will transfer you to the nearby vehicle parking lot, where you will pick up your rental. Setting out on the road soon after, today you will drive from San Jose Airport to a lovely section of Alajuela province in Costa Rica. Your hotel is found in a quiet, remote area of one of Costa Rica's few cloud forests. With beautiful views, abundant wildlife - particularly impressive for the range of birds - and trails to explore, it is the perfect introduction to the natural wonders of Costa Rica. Along the road to your lodge, the city suburbs of San Jose will give way to a verdant farmland, dotted with coffee farms, ranches and parks. You'll pass through the sleepy towns of San Miguel and San Roque as you approach the cloud forest, reaching your hotel after a 90-minute drive.
