Amazing Experience

Overview

Trip Overview

This 11-day South Africa journey captures all that’s beautiful about the Cape, including the famed wildlife and landscapes of the Cape Peninsula, and the big game of South Africa’s famous national parks.

Begin in Cape Town, South Africa’s Mother City, where its complex history and natural splendor (not to mention two oceans) come together. Take a Cape Peninsula tour to get your bearings, including city sights that are harder to reach on your own. Visit the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and take in the view from False Bay. Say hello to the penguins of Bolders Beach and visit the port of Simon’s Town before returning to the city. The following day takes you to Stellenbosch, heart of South Africa’s renowned Winelands, on a day that’s as much about history and beauty as it is about wine.

Cape Town is a big city with plenty of different sides to explore, so take a full day to see it your way. Take the cable car to the top of Table Mountain for stunning views, or dive into the colourful Bo Kaap neighbourhood for some real Cape Town flavour. Take a Walk to Freedom tour to understand the legacy and scars of apartheid, or visit Robben Island to see the former political prison turned museum dedicated to the struggle against oppression. Then leave the city behind, exploring the Hex River Valley, and a number of beautiful towns en route to Prince Albert, a town famed for its produce and wines.

Over the next few days, you’ll see just how diverse South Africa is as you explore the Garden Route. Visit Oudtshoorn, the world’s ‘ostrich capital,’ the limestone formations of Cango Caves, and Knysna, South Africa’s ‘oyster box.’ You’ll end up at Port Elizabeth, thought by many to be South Africa’s friendliest city, before reaching Kariega Game Reserve for a 3-night safari. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in search of the ‘Big 5’ and many other incredible creatures, then spend your days relaxing at the lodge, enjoying its pool and patios, where the wildlife comes to visit you – at a safe distance of course.

Transfer back to Port Elizabeth Airport for departure.
