Trip Overview

This 5-day vacation to the Netherlands takes you to Amsterdam and the surrounding areas. It features deluxe accommodations, private and small group tours, and is a great introduction to the country. 

After arriving in Amsterdam, you’ll get situated and head on a candlelight cruise at sundown. Journey along the city’s famous canals and enjoy charcuterie and wine as you drift alongside the city’s landmarks and see it from the water. The next day, you’ll do as the locals do and join a bike tour throughout the city. You’ll swing by attractions and learn to get around as a local. The next day, head out of Amsterdam and explore some of the most picturesque villages in all of the Netherlands. You’ll tour the villages of Marken, Volendam, Edam, and Zaanse Schans on walking tours, visit a clog maker, and enjoy a cheese tasting, all while enjoying the sights of windmills and flowers.  

The next day, explore Amsterdam itself on a private tour. Stop by Dam Square, the Royal Palace, and the Jordaan neighbourhood before you head to The Hague, the centre of Dutch politics, and end the day in the famous town of Kinderdijk, known for its lovely windmills and pastoral scenery. 

At the end of your stay, you’ll head to the airport to continue your journey.

The Albus - Design Hotel Amsterdam Center

This excursion takes you to the countryside north of Amsterdam, to the edge of the river Zaan, where you visit windmill village 'de Zaanse Schans', with its characteristic green wooden houses. On the turn of the 18th century this district was an industrial area with approximately 700 windmills in use. In this day and age there are only five left. Through typical Dutch scenery continue to Volendam for a city walk and the traditional fisherman's village of Marken, situated on the shores of the former Zuiderzee. This tour includes a visit to a working windmill, boat ride between Marken and Volendam, a demonstration in a cheese factory and visit to a traditional clog maker. The tour is live guided in English and Spanish, but supported by an GPS audio system in 16 languages.

Explore Amsterdam’s highlights by bike, including the Jordaan quarter, Anne Frank House, Rijksmuseum, Vondelpark, and the enchanting “Skinny Bridge” – the city’s iconic love bridge. This tour will start in Amsterdam, and you will make various stops in Amsterdam to see: Dam Square, Museum Square, Leidse Square, skinny bridge, royal palace, the canals, Jordaan (neighborhood). After the tour through Amsterdam, you will visit The Hague. This city is also known as the political center of the Netherlands. You will visit Binnenhof (political center), Peace palace, boulevard of Scheveningen and the historical city center.

After you have visited the two biggest cities in the Netherlands, you will head to Kinderdijk. At Kinderdijk there are many windmills surrounded by water. At Kinderdijk you have the opportunity to make some lovely strolls passing the windmills and enjoy the scenery. you will also visit one of the windmills at Kinderdijk.
