An amazing two week cruise through the Arctic region to discover the austere and breathtaking beauty of a little known world full of natural wonders. Fjords, glaciers, ancient settlements, on board lectures – all these add to the exotic charm of the Arctic.

Tour Details

Start your Arctic exploration flying to Spitsbergen to join your ship for a fascinating cruise journey through the Arctic region with its wild breathtaking beauty like no other place on earth. Moor at Longyearby, the island’s largest settlement. From here, sail around Spitsbergen to experience the abundant wildlife and to take in the austere beauty of the region. You will see glacier fronts, steep walled fjords as well as walrus, polar bears, Spitsbergen reindeer and much birdlife.

Eventually head to Eastern Greenland through the Greenland Sea. While on board, you will have the opportunity to attend presentations on the history of Greenland and to learn more about its local wildlife.

You will explore the remote East Greenland coast including taking Zodiac cruises for shore visits. You will visit ancient Thule settlements, forefathers of the modern Inuit. It is here that 40% of the world’s musk oxen exist. Arrive at spectacular Scoresbysund, home of some of the world’s most beautiful fjord systems. Two days will be spent here getting to appreciate the sheer beauty of the area.

Finally head through the Denmark Strait to Iceland landing at Akureyri where you disembark and fly to Reykjavik.

Your Arctic voyage begins in Oslo, Norway’s vibrant capital city. If you arrive early, there are many museums, restaurants and green spaces to keep you busy before retiring at your included airport hotel.

While sailing south through the historic Greenland Sea, you will learn about the wildlife and history of Greenland, your next stop. On deck you will learn to identify seabirds on the wing.

Take in a lecture, share your photos, sip an icy cocktail in the bar or watch a movie; there are many things to do during your time at sea.

During your tour of Greenland’s remote eastern coast, you will enjoy Zodiac cruises and shore visits to several remote locations.

At sea, the Denmark Strait is your southward pathway east towards Iceland. Your Expedition Team will keep you informed and entertained with presentations about the history of exploration in the Arctic and the seabirds that you will inevitably see soaring above your ship.

Day 15Disembark

Disembark in Akureyri. From here, fly to the domestic airport in Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to downtown Reykjavik.
