The MS Roald Amundsen has been aptly named after the polar explorer from Norway who led the first expedition to cross the Northwest Passage, the first expedition proven to have reached the North Pole, and at the opposite end of the earth, the first expedition to the South Pole.
It’s the first cruise ship in the world to sail purely on battery power. The ship’s groundbreaking green technology uses battery packs to support its low-emission engines, dramatically reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
