This 8-day escape to Costa Rica is sure to elevate your March break. Zip through the rainforests of the Arenal volcano, then unwind all that adrenaline on one of the country’s best beaches. After a night spent in San Jose, depart for Arenal, Costa Rica’s best adventure spot. Zip-lining through the rainforest is a popular pastime here, along with hiking, and white water rafting. If all that sounds far too active, it’s equally satisfying to explore the forest and the volcano at your own pace. An afternoon tour will take you to the highlights, including Arenal Lake and a wide variety of plant and animal life. But you’ll also have time to explore on your own. Afterwards, relax on the beach at Puntarenas, on the Pacific coast, before returning to San Jose for departure.

Los Lagos Hotel, Resort & Spa is located 6 km from Fortuna de San Carlos, on the road to the volcano and about 55 km from the Ciudad Quesada. The 92 rooms are divided in different categories: 23 standard rooms, 14 premium rooms and 49 superior rooms. Every room has air conditioning, ceiling fan, cable TV, safety box, telephone, terrace and mini fridge. The superior room has also a coffee maker. The hotel provides room service, bar, spa, conference room, laundry service, gift shop, restaurant, Jacuzzi, 2 pools trails, sauna and parking.

After a shared transfer to the Sky Tram & Sky Trek grounds, the tour begins with the Sky Tram, a delightful activity for people of all ages. Before leaving the main building to start the tour, you will be given the necessary equipment (harness, helmet, gloves), which the guides will be responsible for adjusting correctly. You will then participate in a brief safety talk regarding the proper way to fasten the cables and to use the braking system. From there, the gondolas of the Sky Tram rise delicately above the rainforest, offering beautiful landscapes during the journey. The walk starts at the reception and ends at the highest point of the reserve, on a lookout with an excellent view of the forest, the volcano, and the lake. The gondola ride lasts approximately 20 minutes during which a local guide will explain the vegetation and fauna of the forest canopy. Then, the Sky Trek will take you back to the starting point. From this area, you will begin to slide on a track of zip lines that extend through canyons in the middle of the treetops. So begins the exciting adventure in zip lines descending the mountains and returning to the starting point in the main building. You will be able to experience and observe the rainforest from a bird's eye view, admiring the wildlife from the heights. This adventure includes eight cables with a distance of almost 3 km (2 miles) in length, all while enjoying panoramic views of the forest, lake and Arenal Volcano.

Looking for adventure? This thrilling full-day adventure in Arenal fits the bill! The tour starts with 7 extreme zip lines, including a climb up a 54-ft tower and a zip over a 360-ft canyon. Cross a hanging bridge to reach the longest cable, 1 km (0.6 miles) above La Fortuna Waterfall, with views of downtown, from which you'll zip at high speeds of up to 69 km per hour (43 mph). After zip lining, continue with a white water rafting tour on the Balsa River, with rapids of II & III class (suitable for all experience levels). Spot flora and fauna along the way with the help of a local guide and appreciate the natural beauty of Costa Rica. End the day with a delicious typical lunch at a restaurant before being returned to your hotel.
